Sarah Scales– Non-Executive Director
Sarah has more than 32 years experience in the Australian agribusiness sector, including grains, sugar, plant science & technology, food processing and water industries. After commencing her career with Cargill Australia, Sarah has managed grain trading businesses both in Australia and offshore and has a working knowledge of each of Australia’s key grain growing regions. Sarah joined the Australian Wheat Board Limited (AWB) as a grain trader in the 1990s, before progressing to Trading Manager for Victoria and Tasmania and then relocating to New York City to run the company’s derivatives hedging book. From 2001 to 2007, Sarah was a member of AWB’s Executive leadership Group and General Manager AWB International. Her role was to oversee and manage the AWB’s “single desk system” with overall responsibilities including international sales & marketing, risk portfolio management, supply chain optimization (bulk handling companies, railways, ports and sea freight), grain technology and finance. In addition to her role with Agracom, Sarah is a Non Executive of Aroona Farms Pty Ltd, Tarac Australia Limited, AustOn Corporation and related companies, Namoi Cotton Limited, and Chair of Pace Farm Pty Limited.
Joe Hallman – Managing Director
Joe joined Agracom in 1997 bringing with him experience in agricultural commodities markets both domestically and internationally, having worked as a trader of tallow and vegetable oils both in Australia and South Africa. Joe has a degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Sydney, a Diploma in Export Management and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Joe has been a director since 1999 and has been Managing Director of the business since 2003.
Brett Donoghue – Director
Brett is originally from a rural background in the Gunnedah area, to which he has returned since joining Agracom in 2009. Brett has many years experience in the grain industry, working in Australia with grain trading businesses prior to going overseas and working in Canada. Immediately, prior to joining Agracom, Brett worked in Sydney at a senior level for an international cotton, cocoa and grain merchant. Brett has an Agricultural Economics degree from the University of New England. Brett is a director at Agracom having joined the board in 2013.
